Autumn

autumn

The beauty of autumn arrives at a much slower pace here. I usually spend the season feeling like I am in transit between summer and winter: the weather starts to get colder, and the leaves fall gradually, but we don’t get many spectacular bursts of color.

Yesterday, I felt as though I woke up to autumn, though. I heard the rustling of the leaves and saw the graceful dance that they made around me. And, today, I savored a heartwarming golden melody outside of our front window.

To celebrate the season, I would like to share these beautiful quotes:

“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.”
― Lauren DeStefano

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”
― Albert Camus

“Autumn…the year’s last, loveliest smile.”
― William Cullen Bryant

“Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.”
― George Eliot

“No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace as I have seen in one autumnal face.”
― John Donne

Lovely post! There is something so extremely beautiful about autumn.
We had the golden leaves outside of our kitchen window here in Russia.
They have fallen off now as winter approaches, but sure enjoyed the
    show when it was here.
