Making 2016 a Great Year

What do you hope for in 2016?

Last January, I chose the word “fruitful” because I hoped that 2015 would be a fruitful year. As I look back on last year, I can’t help but feel grateful because 2015 was the most fruitful year of my life.

For 2016, I’m choosing the word “nurture” because I want to take care of what I have. I want to appreciate my blessings and encourage their growth and development.

I want to do my best with writing, including exchanging my thoughts and feelings with others through this blog. I like sharing my experiences, connecting with those of you who read my blog, learning about your thoughts and experiences, and supporting a community of wonderful people who can improve the world together.

I hope that this will also be the year that our small non-profit organization, Creative Helping, will be able to encourage a global community of people to help others.

I would also like to do my best to appreciate our tangible blessings. We bought our first home last year, and I want to make it a warm and happy place for my family–and for those who visit us.

Most of all, I want to nurture the people in my life: my husband, my daughter, our extended family, my friends, my acquaintances, and those I do mental health counseling with. I had my first child, a baby girl, in November. Motherhood has changed what I value the most in life. Over time, I will be blogging about it. I’m a new parent, so I’d love for you to share anything that you’ve learned as a parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt, teacher, or caregiver.

I truly believe that choosing a focus for the year can produce amazing results. Do you have a word to describe what you hope for in 2016?
