Mule Day: A Unique Experience in Southwest Georgia

If you happen to be in Southwest Georgia at the beginning of November, you should definitely check out Mule Day. It’s a fun and unique experience!

Tony and I had a great time there yesterday afternoon. My favorite part was the mule costume contest, which starred two “Mule Dynasty” families. (I guess it’s time for me to check out that show Duck Dynasty–so that I can understand why people were performing duck calls during this mule costume contest!)

We missed the mule rodeo this year, but we got to see it last year. It was fun watching people compete in a mule-riding contest.

There were plenty of other activities throughout the day: pony rides, wall climbing, train rides for kids, a mule museum. People sat on bales of hay and listened to an enthusiastic rock band. I also noticed a line of targets, where people could try their hand at slingshots.

I really enjoyed browsing the vendors’ booths. Many of them sold interesting antiques, cheesy t-shirts, or “fair food.”

On the way home, we saw an abundance of cotton fields and side-of-the-road garage sales. There was also a “Sweet Taters” vendor.

We wanted to try a small sweet potato pie, but, apparently, they had been very popular and had all sold out. I guess we’ll just have to get there earlier next time. I’m already looking forward to it!

It must have been a nice experience,to show care for
animals, mules especially, and also showing them the meaning of outfit.
I thought trousers were only preserved for men! No wonder we have horse-shoes.

Indeed! 🙂 That was the first time I saw animals dressed up like that.
